Terms of use

Plain language, because you should be able to read them. Last updated September 10, 2026.

Who runs this

RaceFinder (racefinder.ca) is built and operated by Connor Laskowski, an individual in Ontario, Canada. It is not a company, not a registration platform, and not affiliated with any race, timing company or registration provider. Questions, complaints and corrections: hello@racefinder.ca.

Using the site means you accept these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.

What RaceFinder is

A free directory of running and endurance events in Canada. Listings are compiled automatically from public event calendars and registration platforms, rebuilt nightly, and every one links out to the organizer's own page. You do not register for anything here and no money changes hands here.

Race information can be wrong โ€” always confirm with the organizer

This is the important one. Dates, times, distances, entry fees, registration deadlines, sold-out status and locations are gathered from third-party sources and can be out of date, incomplete or simply incorrect. Organizers change and cancel events without telling us.

Before you register, travel, book anything or turn up on race morning, confirm the details on the organizer's official page. RaceFinder is a starting point for finding a race, not a source of truth about one. We are not responsible for entry fees, travel costs or anything else lost because a listing here was wrong.

Spotted something incorrect? Tell us and we'll fix it โ€” hello@racefinder.ca or the submission form. Organizers can claim or correct a listing free, and we'll remove a listing on an organizer's request.

What you can and can't do here

Browse it, use it to plan your season, link to it, quote it with credit. That is all fine and encouraged.

Please don't:

  • Scrape or bulk-copy the listings to rebuild a competing calendar. Small amounts of factual data with attribution is fine; wholesale copying is not.
  • Attack, overload or probe the site, or try to reach admin areas.
  • Use the forms to send other people's personal information, spam, or anything unlawful.
  • Post reviews or submissions that are false, abusive, discriminatory, or that impersonate someone else.

We can remove content and block access at any time, for any of the above or for anything else that makes the site worse for other people.

Reviews and other things you post

Reviews, Run of the Month entries, race submissions and club listings are yours. By posting them you give us permission to show them on the site and to quote them in the newsletter or social posts, with your first name or display name attached. You keep ownership; you can ask us to delete anything you posted and we will.

Reviews are opinions of the people who wrote them, not ours, and we don't verify that a reviewer ran the race.

Whose content is whose

The site's own writing, guides, data analysis, design and code belong to RaceFinder. Race names, logos and event descriptions belong to the organizers โ€” we show short excerpts with credit and a link back, and factual details (dates, distances, prices) which are not owned by anyone.

If you own content that appears here and you want it removed or corrected, email hello@racefinder.ca with a link to the page and we will act on it promptly โ€” that is a promise, not a formality.

Accounts

An account is optional and exists only to sync your saved races and race passport across devices. There is no password โ€” you sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, so keep access to that inbox secure. Ask us and we'll delete your account and everything in it.

Giveaway

The monthly giveaway has its own rules, including eligibility and how a winner is drawn and notified โ€” see the giveaway page. Those rules apply in addition to these terms.

No guarantees, and the limit of our responsibility

RaceFinder is provided as-is and free of charge. We don't guarantee that it will be available, current, complete or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, RaceFinder and its operator are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on information found here โ€” including missed races, wasted entry fees and travel costs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights under applicable Canadian consumer-protection law are unaffected.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. The date at the top tells you when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction โ€” except where the law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim closer to home.

Privacy

What we collect and what happens to it is set out separately in the privacy policy.
