- How long before a 10K should I enter?
- A few weeks is usually enough to find one and train for it if you already run, and most 10Ks still have entries open in the final week. The exceptions are the big-city runs attached to a marathon weekend, which can fill months ahead. Each race page shows the registration window when the organizer publishes one.
- Is there usually a 5K at the same event?
- Very often — most Canadian 10Ks run alongside a 5K on the same morning and the same course loop, which is useful if you are entering with someone who is not ready for the longer one. The distances listed on each race page are the ones the organizer is actually offering.
- What's a normal finish time?
- The middle of a typical Canadian 10K field comes in somewhere around 55 to 70 minutes, with plenty of people walking parts of it and plenty finishing well after. Race pages here show the distances and the start time, not a required pace — no 10K on this calendar has a cutoff that a steady walker would miss.
