parkrun, in short

What is parkrun?
A free, weekly, timed 5 km community event, every Saturday morning, in parks, on trails and along waterfronts. You can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. There is no time limit and no one finishes last.
Does it cost anything?
No. parkrun is free, and you only register once - at parkrun.ca - whichever events you go to and whether you walk, jog, run or volunteer. Bring a scannable copy of your barcode: no barcode, no result.
What time does parkrun start?
Saturday morning. Of the 67 event pages, read October 12, 2026: 65 list 9:00 am, Penticton lists 8:00 am and Frédéric Back in Montréal lists 9:30 am. Four of the 65 - Okanagan Rail Trail, Budapest Park, Victoria Park Beach in Cobourg and Beach Strip - list 8:00 am from May to September. Your event's own page, linked from its row above, has its start time.
Do I need to be a runner?
No. In parkrun's own words, join in whatever your pace, and walkers are very welcome. Everyone who finishes with a barcode gets an official time, and you can come to volunteer or cheer instead of taking part.
